Thank you so much, RV. This is amazing! I will share everything with the team.
The campaign in 30 seconds
From brief to creator-led work
- The brief
Make the offer worth noticing
Crest needed to drive awareness and purchase urgency for a limited-time Costco offer without making another routine product review or forgettable ad.
- The creative move
Let the product power the joke
I built the product into my Better Than Everyone series, where whitening my teeth became the absurd little flex that carried the offer.
- What I made
Strategy through delivery
I developed the concept, wrote and performed the script, filmed and edited the campaign, adapted it across four placements, and kept the audience conversation moving after launch.

The detailed story

The offer needed a stronger reason to stop
Crest had a clear retail objective: convince Costco shoppers to buy the 3DWhitestrips combo pack while it was available at a significant value for a limited time. The creative brief also ruled out a standard product review or get-ready-with-me video. The offer needed an authentic hook that could hold attention and create urgency without feeling like another ad.
I saw a natural fit with my Better Than Everyone series. The format takes an everyday action and inflates it into a ridiculous source of pride. Whitening my teeth could become the flex, while the Costco price and combo pack gave the character something specific to show off.
I built the product into the premise
The campaign did not sit beside the joke. It supplied the joke. I performed as somebody delighted by his own brighter-smile routine, then used quick cuts, product handling, and exaggerated reactions to reveal the combo pack and the limited-time offer.
That structure let me meet a precise set of brand requirements without losing the rhythm of the series. The product appeared early, the sponsorship stayed clear, the Costco call to action arrived quickly, and the reason for wanting a brighter smile became part of the character’s self-importance.
The first concept was already close to the final direction. When the brand reviewed it, the team asked to preserve the original voiceover and add one personal reason for wanting a brighter smile. That feedback protected what was working while making the product story more complete.
One idea carried across the campaign
I developed the concept, script, performance, filming, editing, cover, caption, and Story treatment, then adapted the approved work for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. I also documented each revision so the review stayed easy to follow and turned the remaining caption edits around quickly.
After the content went live, I stayed active in the comments and encouraged the brand team to join the conversation. The agency noted that the discussion was fun and engaging, and the comments became a second place where the campaign kept working.
The audience understood what to do next
The campaign generated more than 1,300 engagements, including 320 comments and 93 shares. More important than the totals was the language people used. Viewers said they were heading to Costco, thanked me for flagging the sale, and described the price as the reason they were finally ready to buy.
Others praised the execution itself, comparing it to a commercial and asking how sponsored content could feel so entertaining. That combination showed the creative doing both jobs at once: keeping the audience inside a familiar series while making the retailer, offer, and product easy to understand.
What the partnership demonstrated
A limited-time promotion does not need to become a list of talking points. When the product benefit powers the premise, the brand can stay unmistakable while the work still feels native to the creator and worth watching on its own.
For Crest, the offer became a character choice, the product became the visual payoff, and the comments showed a clear path from entertainment to purchase intent.
